We're thrilled you're considering staying with us and want to make sure you have all the information you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Here are some details about our historic property and our policies to help you plan your visit.
Booking Your Stay
If you are booking for someone else make sure you give them the check in information and what to expect to ensure our hotel is a good fit for their needs.

All rooms are prepaid in full at the time of booking. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. We enforce a strict prepayment and no-cancellation policy to ensure fair allocation of our limited rooms. There are NO refunds for any reason.
We offer a one-time complimentary date change with at least 5 days' notice prior to your original arrival date. Unfortunately, changes after a rescheduled date are non-refundable.
About Our Property
We are a historic hotel with a large collection of antiques and décor all throughout the hotel and rooms. Please note that our hotel is NOT wheelchair accessible and has many stairs throughout the building. Our historic building may not be ideal for guests with mobility limitations or seniors that cannot get around obstacles easy.
We recommend taking a virtual tour of our property on our website by looking at pictures and videos to get a feel for the layout.
Checking In and Out
Enjoy a seamless arrival experience with our convenient self check-in process. You'll receive a personalized door code and check-in instructions via text message prior to 3:00 PM. Self Check-in is available between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Your room key and welcome sheet will be waiting inside the hotel at your room so no need to visit a front desk or speak to anyone.
For a smooth transition between guests, our housekeeping team requires ample time to prepare each room. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. Your check-out time is 11:00 AM. If you haven't left the building by this time, a full night's room charge will apply.
Enjoying Your Stay
Drinking-
We aim for all guests to have a pleasant experience at our hotel. The responsible enjoyment of alcoholic beverages within the hotel premises is permitted. However, excessive intoxication that leads to disruptive behavior or poses a risk to the safety and comfort of other guests or the preservation of our historic collection is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, an inability to walk safely or maintain balance, which could inadvertently lead to damage. Should a guest exhibit such behavior due to excessive intoxication, they will be asked to depart the hotel immediately by local police without a refund. Furthermore, any damages to hotel property or our collection resulting from excessive intoxication will incur a charge of five times the item's assessed value. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a respectful and safe environment for everyone.
Quiet Time-
We have a quiet time policy from 11pm to 7am (except during events) to ensure everyone gets a good night's sleep. Any visitors brought in by a guest must leave by 10pm. We are to be notified of ALL outside visitors before they enter.
NO SMOKING/VAPING-
To maintain a fresh and pleasant environment for all our guests, the Historic Jefferson Hotel is entirely non-smoking and non-vaping. This policy applies to all indoor areas, including guest rooms and public spaces. Designated smoking/vaping areas are conveniently located outdoors, away from building entrances.
Please be aware that a $500.00 fee will be applied to any violation of this policy. Our guest rooms are equipped with specialized detection systems that will alert us to any instances of smoking or vaping. Should an alert be triggered, hotel staff will promptly visit the room to investigate and reset the system. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our non-smoking and non-vaping policy.
Children
Well-behaved children ages 8 and up are allowed, as long as they are supervised by an adult at all times. Children under 8 are not allowed inside the hotel as we have a variety of historic artifacts and antiques that are delicate and could be easily broken by unsupervised children of that age.
NO PETS
We unfortunately cannot accommodate pets of any type.
Relaxation and Amenities
All of our rooms are designed for your comfort and convenience.
Downstairs suites feature amenities like Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, mini-fridges, seating areas, and phone chargers, along with plush towels, hand towels, and washcloths.
Upstairs themed rooms offer a cozy retreat with Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, fresh towels and a hand towel. Please note that due to insurance regulations, we are unable to provide items that generate heat, such as hair dryers. You can however bring your own.
We have a common area with Ice, Coffee, and Vending next to our ballroom.
Each room has a climate control system to adjust the temperature to your comfort level. The hotel is kept at 69-70 degree’s year round to cut down on humidity.
We offer a variety of historic areas to explore throughout the hotel, and some weekends offer Paranormal investigations by the hour for guests interested in the hotel's paranormal history.
Additional Information
There is parking available in the surrounding areas and a dedicated lot for hotel guests in the rear. In case of an emergency, please dial 911 or text our front desk at 901-468-3551.
Important Guest Information Please be aware that the Historic Jefferson Hotel, with its historic structure and unique collection, involves certain inherent risks. Guests are responsible for any damages caused by themselves or their visitors. This includes the complete replacement of any linens/carpet soiled by vomit or blood, as standard cleaning is not feasible. By confirming your reservation, you acknowledge and accept that the hotel assumes no liability for any injuries, howsoever caused, during your stay.
Chargebacks
Should a chargeback be initiated without valid justification, we will investigate the matter thoroughly. If the chargeback is deemed invalid, we will re-debit the original card used for the reservation to recover the full amount, including applicable taxes and fees. A $50 chargeback fee will be applied to cover the administrative costs associated with processing the dispute. If your card does not go through, we will then file a theft report with the local police.
Lost and found
Kindly be advised that the hotel does not offer a mail service for items left on the premises. It is the guest's responsibility to arrange for the collection of any lost property. Items not retrieved within 30 days will be considered abandoned and become the property of the hotel.
