Please make sure you read these policies before booking!
We strive to provide our guests with an exceptionally clean, safe, and a family friendly historic hotel experience. We are a family owned and operated establishment, there is always someone onsite. The following Hotel Policy/House Rules have been established based on industry standards, management and operational procedures. These Hotel Policy/House Rules are considered a part of our reservation agreement with you. As our hotel guest, by booking with us you are agreeing to abide by all of our Hotel Policy/House Rules, terms and conditions, and procedures. This includes if you call in to make a reservation. Our hotel is a Historic Hotel with a large Antiquity collection. These Policies are put in place to protect our historic collection and to keep our guests safe. Please keep children under advisement at all times. We encourage everyone to enjoy the collection by looking and asking questions about any pieces in our collection, but please do not touch.
Check in is at 3pm, Check out is at 11am. Sorry at this time we are not offering early or late check in or out options. If the front door is locked upon your arrival please ring the bell or call/text us.
Drinking- We want you to have a good time and we don't mind you drinking, however this is not a place to get DRUNK and it will NOT be tolerated. If you are disturbing others, being loud or obnoxious and are not following our quiet time rules we will give you one warning and then you will be escorted off the premises and you will not be able to come back. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.
Smoking/Vaping or ANY type of illegal drug use anywhere in the hotel is NOT tolerated, this includes Marijuana. In a case where you or any person in your party (whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay) will smoke/vape or use illegal drugs inside the hotel, a $500 “cleaning fee” will be charged to your Credit Card immediately and all guests staying in the room will be banned from future stays. This includes smoke odor residue left over from not "airing out" before coming into the Hotel. Any odor can adhere to our antique furniture and will release the odor in the future providing an unpleasant experience for future guests so please "air out" before entering the hotel. If you enter the hotel with an unpleasant odor due to Smoking/Vaping or ANY type of illegal drug you will be asked to leave upon arrival. We have special smoke detection devices in the rooms and bathrooms of the hotel. If those go off you will be charged $500 immediately to the card on file.
Smoking must be done outside and at least 30' away from all entrances. Our insurance does NOT allow Smoking on the balcony.

We do NOT allow children under the age of 5 to stay with us.
PARENTS! Well behaved children ages 5 and up are allowed but MUST be with you and supervised at ALL times! There are a lot of breakable items and things that kids would enjoy to touch, If you think you cannot watch your children to make sure they don't touch or run in the hotel please do NOT bring them here. This is not a place for young children.
According to our insurance, it is strictly forbidden to use burner stoves, free flames, coffee pots, irons and candles. Curling irons, hair dryers can be brought in, but we cannot provide them to you. There is no cooking equipment allowed in the rooms at any time.

We do have a common area that has a microwave, refrigerator, coffee, and Vending machines in our vending area.
The rooms have a published maximum number of people allowed in the rooms. Any guests over the published number will be asked to purchase another room or have to leave.
We Do NOT have wheelchair accessible rooms.

SMOKING:
Our historic hotel is 100% SMOKE FREE from Cigarettes and Vape. For safety and to assure that our facility is not exposed to items or actions that create an odor which is unhealthy and objectionable to our guests and staff, and that is difficult to remove from the air, carpet, walls, and furniture we do not permit smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, vaping, cartridges containing the liquid of nicotine, hookahs, incense, cooking, cigars, candle burning, the use or diffusing of patchouli oil or other strong-smelling plant-based essential oils or synthetic products in our facility. We have special smoke detection devices throughout the Hotel to help keep our guests and Historic building safe. These devices do show particulate matter and V.O.C. rating based off of cigarette or Vape smoke, and are in all the rooms and halls.
It is possible, though, to smoke in the garden outdoor area. In a case where a guest will smoke inside the room, a $500 “cleaning fee” will be charged and all guests staying in the room will be banned from future stays. HOUSEKEEPING:
If anything is needed during the duration of your stay, please contact the front desk using the provided phone number and we will accommodate your needs. If you stay for more than 3 days, housekeeping will be provided on the 3rd day between 11am and 3pm. A detailed log is maintained on each room and linen. Rooms are rented to guests in appropriate condition without any prohibited odor. Housekeeping and Front Desk staff are trained and skilled in identifying the odors from prohibited items. If our investigation concludes that you have smoked in your room, cooked, or brought a prohibited item into our facility, you will be fined, and evicted without any refund.
INTERNET:
A complimentary Wi-Fi internet connection is available for the guests, in all rooms and common areas. To activate the connection, it’s necessary to enter the access code that is provided to all guests at the time of check-in.
VISITORS:
No visitors after 10:00 p.m. Visitors must notify Front Desk upon their arrival. Visitors must be accompanied by the registered guest at all times. Visitors are not allowed to use guest amenities or Wi-Fi. As a registered guest, you are responsible for your visitor at all times.
CHILDREN:
Well behaved children ages 5 and up are welcomed. As the parents, guardians, or chaperones of children you are personally and legally responsible for and must supervise them at ALL times. This includes children 16 and under. For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the hotel property unsupervised. Children 17 and under CANNOT occupy a room without adult supervision at all times.

If a service dog causes damage to furniture or relieves itself in the room or anywhere in the hotel, there will be a $500 cleaning fee. If there is any hair on the sheets or linen we will charge a $200 replacement fee, so we ask that you do NOT allow the animal on the bed at any time unless this is how the animal is to perform a task for you. Service dogs must be under the control of their person AT ALL TIMES in order to be allowed to accompany their person into our establishment.

IN ROOM:

No parties, loud disturbances and/or noise-nuisance are allowed or tolerated on these premises. In the event of a disturbance, one polite request (warning) will be given to reduce the noise. If our request is not followed, the guest will be asked to leave the hotel without refund. Registered guest(s) is responsible for all persons visiting. Non-Registered visitors are only permitted until 10:00 P.M. If found with more “people” not listed on the Guest Registration Form after 10:00 P.M. your stay will be considered a party. You will be ordered to vacate the premises without refund and maybe charged a Guest Disturbance Fee. If you stay more than 2 days we will provide you with more towels washcloths and toilet paper if needed.
PARKING:
There is parking in the surrounding areas of the hotel and a parking lot dedicated to hotel guests located in the rear. FIRE SAFETY POLICY:
The hotel is fully equipped with smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors. Please notify Front Desk in the event of a fire or other emergency.
LOST & FOUND:
The hotel has a Lost & Found service for its guests. Please contact the Front Desk by phone at (901)Hotel51 or via email at TheHistoricJeffersonHotel@gmail.com

Access to the rooms and the floors of the hotel is allowed only to guests that have been registered at the Reception. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State laws. The Historic Jefferson Hotel has a zero tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our hotel or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the State of Texas and the owners for the operation and management of the hotel. The Historic Jefferson Hotel will refuse service or evict a guest: for refusal or failure to pay for accommodations, is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not in compliance with state liquor laws; acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests; is unable to properly supervise their children at all times, seeks to use the hotel for an unlawful purpose; seeks to bring into the hotel: an unlawfully possessed firearm; or something, including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful to possess and that may be dangerous to other persons; destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to hotel property or guests; causes or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable occupancy of room, refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by The Historic Jefferson Hotel for the operation and management of our hotel.
QUIET HOURS: (Does not apply when we have events unless otherwise posted in the hotel)
11:00 pm. to 7 am. If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact Front Desk staff immediately. Televisions, voices, or other devices must be kept at a respectful low level at all times. Doors should be opened and closed quietly. Be aware that a lot of visitors to the The Historic Jefferson Hotel are here to have a haunted experience. Our hotel is known to have haunted activity. Please remember there may be guests here to visit the Hotel for its Historical Antique collection. While we encourage you to have a haunted experience, please be respectful to other guests while using devices or having personal experiences. No congregating or running in halls. If you are a guest wanting to have a haunted experience please note that you have access to only the room you have booked and the common areas. All other rooms are off limits for investigation unless you want to reserve the entire hotel for an event or filming. We do have some specific areas for investigation that you can rent by the hour during your visit as well.
DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTY:
You are liable for any damage howsoever caused (whether by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room (s), hotel’s premises or property caused by you or any person in your party whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. The Historic Jefferson Hotel reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge or debit the credit /debit card such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by The Historic Jefferson Hotel as a result of the aforesaid. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT:
Guest Rooms found with waste strewn around, in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to maintenance deep cleaning fee, administration fee and/or third party fees.
DAMAGE TO ROOM:
Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, art work, Antiques, etc. will be charge at 120% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.
DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING:
Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, hair color, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article. We do NOT clean throw up off the sheets or anything under it. If throw up is discovered on any of the linen you will be charged full price of replacement.

DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS/FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT/SECURITY CAMERAS:
The Historic Jefferson Hotel reserve the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement may become involved at the hotel’s discretion. Should the fact that fire-fighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. There are over 50 live security cameras throughout the commons areas and outside the hotel. These cameras are monitored and recording 24 hrs a day via hotel staff. These cameras are strategically placed to keep your stay safe and to monitor our historic antique collection.

The Historic Jefferson Hotel reserves the right to amend, modify, change, cancel, vary or add to these Hotel Policies/House Rules or the arrangements and content featured on our Hotel website at any time without prior notice. Please check our website regularly for updates to Hotel Policy/House Rules. Any modification to these Hotel Policy/House Rules that occurs before your departure is considered a part of your reservations agreement with us. A copy of these Hotel Policy/House Rules is located on our website, and available from Front Desk staff upon request.
